Hart Software's Commitment to Privacy

HART SOFTWARE, INC is an independent organization that provides services, which enable individuals, companies, and organizations to legally obtain combined personal and business information. This information, and access to it, is treated with the up most respect for privacy and protection. As a supplier and processor of sensitive information, Hart Software respects the privacy interests of its clients and is committed to the responsible handling of data used in the services we provide.

WE ARE AWARE OF YOUR PRIVACY CONCERNS, and our goal is to operate our systems with integrity and confidentiality. Hart Software pledges to comply with the spirit and letter of all applicable privacy laws. As such, we will make every reasonable effort to ensure that we:

  • Protect information received from unauthorized access or alteration.
  • Safeguard personally identifiable information, both at our physical location and in the electronic transfer and storage of data.
  • Store data retrieved from the repository on your behalf in a secure environment.
  • Utilize industry standard encryption in the data transfer process.

TYPES OF INFORMATION WE COLLECT AND USE.
The primary reason we collect personal background and credit information is to provide products and services that have been legally permissibly requested. The type of information we collect, and the primary purpose for which it is collected includes:

  • Required user registration information such as account name and password, contact information such as name, address, and telephone numbers. This is used for product use, activation, and support.
  • Personal information of subjects, such as name, address, Social Security number, and date of birth, is utilized to request information from other agencies. We require this information in order to provide personal credit and background information. The information returned from these agencies is combined, and returned to the requested user for their permissible and legal use.
  • Credit and other information we receive from credit and reporting agencies is stored for a set period of time, so that it may be able to be reviewed by the requester, without incurring additional cost from the credit bureaus, and other repositories.
  • Billing information, such as account names and passwords, credit card number, is required to process the payment for the products and services that are ordered trough use of our products and services.
  • Other account information we collect, such as password hints, may be used for support, or to verify identity in the event that someone forgot login information required for our services. E-mail addresses are collected and used to send you notifications, and product support.

DO WE SHARE INFORMATION WITH THIRD PARTIES?
We do not share information with any non-affiliated third party except as permitted or required by law, such as inquires by law enforcement or to comply with Federal laws such as the Controlling the Assault of Non-Solicited Pornography and Marketing Act of 2003 (CAN-SPAM Act of 2003) or the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act (FACTA). In order to provide the products you have requested, we may disclose the information we collect to companies that perform requested services, such as the credit agencies from which we obtain credit report(s), public record repositories, and background checking agencies. Our service providers are contractually limited to using the information received from Hart Software solely for the purposes of providing with the services requested. We cannot, however, be responsible for their privacy practices.

HOW DO WE PROTECT INFORMATION?
We restrict access to nonpublic personal information to those of our employees who need to know that information in order to provide requested products or services. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards designed to protect nonpublic personal information. Hart Software protects information over the Internet by using a secure web server, which allows web browser programs to interact with our web server via an encrypted session. We employ a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) connection that provides an encrypted connection between your computer and Hart web based software.
