Voice Response Unit (VRU)

Our VRU (Voice Response Unit) technology "reads" key information to the user over the phone. The System allows the customer to use their land or cell telephone for the inquiry-- no PC, no software, and no Internet Access required. Using cutting edge text-to-speech synthesis, the system announces the results of the query. This could be a score (or "Approved", "Need Deposit", etc.) for example. A copy of the full report is posted to a web site for review and processing. A hard copy of the report can be sent to a predetermined fax number if preferred. Since the VRU System uses new technology, virtually all bureau products are available unlike some of the limitations of the DACR System.

 

Why would someone want to have credit related information "read" to them over the phone?
This application is for situations where access to a PC is not always feasible. VRU facilitates instant approvals for kiosk, "tent-sale," in-home or other types of sales on the move. It's also great for high-turnover and/or low-skill positions where volume is not heavy. The system requires almost no training to use, and the decisioning results are safely predetermined by management prior to implementation. Here is just one of many possible examples: If the credit score is above 600, "approve" could be announced. If the score is 599 or lower, then "deposit required" or "pre-pay" might be announced.
